

Making of a design - faux bois print
I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning than listening to BBC Radio 6 Music, enjoying the sunshine through the open window, and creating prints. This morning, I finally finished carving a woodgrain linocut design that I've been meaning to do for a few weeks. This design, along with the fox and owl prints serve as a loosely-connected series based on the theme of winter. It's fitting that I'm finishing the last image of this series on the first properly spring


Cherry blossoms
I recently wrote about a trip to the Japanese gallery at the British Museum. Besides seeing some lovely prints, I was also inspired by a beautiful wedding sash with weeping cherry blossom design. I had been thinking of creating a cherry blossom print, but something was missing from my early versions. I love the way the blossoms pour down from the top of the sash, and the metallic thread elevates the natural designs to a level of elegance befitting a wedding. My photos didn't
